I too thought it was a great and well-played drama. A real tour-de-force for DT. But the ending does leave a sour taste in my mouth.
I was also disturbed that the story didn't follow up on the one boy deliberately injuring himself with the hammer. (Or did it? It's been a while.)
2 little bits o' trivia: Neve McIntosh (Anna) also played Madame Vastra in A Good Man Goes to War and The Snowmen on Doctor Who. And Suranne Jones (Sarah) played Idris, the woman "possessed" by the TARDIS, in The Doctor's Wife.
