Tutorial #15 ft. Hayden Pannettiere

I'm a tutorial roll again so expect a few more this week =)

Step 1. Crop your image so that all of your subject’s body is included, don’t worry if you have white parts on the edges.

RESULT

Step 2. Duplicate your image twice and arrange your duplicates either side of the first image. Use the rectangular marquee tool to remove any overlapping parts.

Step 3. Flatten then sharpen your image. Now use the Smudge Tool to blend the images together.

RESULT

Step 4. Desaturate your image. I did this by creating a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and lowering the saturation to -100 but you can do it however you like.

RESULT

Step 5. Create a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer. These were my settings:

Brightness: -31 Contrast: +21

which I set to Linear Light on 45% opacity.

Play around with these settings and blend modes until you get something like this:

REUSLT

Step 6. Create a new layer and select the colour that you would like the main body to be. I used #FFEB00. I simply used the paint brush to paint the shirt yellow then duplicated the layer twice and moved it onto the other two images then set the layers to Linear Burn 100%. You may want to used the polygonal lasso tool or then pen tool to select your area. Depending on the colour you are using you may also want to set the layer/s to Color or Darken rather than Linear Burn.

RESULT

Step 7. Last but not least add a texture. I used this one from loveicon which I rotated and set to Exclusion 83%.

DONE! I’d love to see your result!
