Glad you had fun and thank heavens the rain held out! :)
Eye contact was always my thing too. I have a tendancy to focus my attention inward on my body so if I look up and see someone watching, I freeze. There were many times I forgot the step, dropped a hoop or tripped over my own feet while either hooping or bellydancing. I still do both either alone, with eyes closed or my back to the door.
