“His name is Timothy Jay Mortenson of San Fransisco, California.” explained the first Secret Service Agent as he shoved Tim into a second Agent.
“Timmy!”, exclaimed the second Agent enjoying Tim’s fearful reaction, “It’s great to see you, Buddy. Why don’t you have a have a drink with us over here.”
“I’m not thrusty.” replied Tim as he tried to prevent himself from being dragged by his arm into a warehouse.
“Then you can just sit with us while we wait for someone who wants to have a word with you.”
“Who?”
“Oh, you’ll see, Timmy.” joked the second Agent, ”You’ll see real soon.”
It was anthor anti-LexCorp protest, it was well planned and timed perfectly with the arrival of the President into Metropolis. Again they tried to irritated Lex, and this time the Secret Service was ready. Police and Secret Service managed to break up the protest in short order, separating several people who had been suspected of organizing the protest. Tim was the one the decided to keep for questioning and maybe put a scare into the younger crowd. He tried to be tough at first, but folded like warm butter after being worked over. Tim only needed to be punched once to remind him he was a very small worm on a very big hook, but they just couldn’t resist. After making sure he could only see out of one eye and bleeding from both nostrils, it was time for him talk about who was running the show. The Secret Service had brought him to a old Chemical Factory that was owned by a LexCorp front company. Inside they brought him to the main stairs to the Management Office where ‘Someone’ was waiting for Tim. Inside, Tim is dropped into an office chair where a familiar voice calls his name.
“Hello, Mr. Mortenson.”, Tim’s head snapped to the sound that chilled his blood. Lex Luthor stepped into view from the darkness. “You seem to have been really busy, Mr. Mortenson. Why is it you are trying to annoy me.” Timothy remained silent as Lex paced around him. “Mr. Mortenson, I do hate repeating myself.” When Lex was satisfied that he was not getting a response, he nodded to the second Agent. The second Agent began binding Timothy’s arms and ankles to the chair. “Oh, Mr. Mortenson, we do seem to have found ourselves in some deep trouble haven’t see?”
“You can’t do this I have rights!”
“I have rights too, Mr. Mortenson. Like the right to free enterprise, the right to bear arms…” the first Agent handed his partner a sledge hammer and chisel “…the right to rub out the annoying little men of the world, like yourself.”
“Superman!! Superman, help!!” screamed Tim.
“He isn’t going to hear you or see you, Mr Mortenson. I designed this place as a place where I can conduct business without having any entanglements. Scream all you like Mr. Mortenson, let me know when you are done.”
“SUPERMAAAAN!!”
The Office door burst open and Lex let out a gasp. Tim practically broke his own neck to see Superman, but it was just a smirking Agent..
“I’m so sorry Mr. Mortenson, that was a bad joke. Just to let you know Superman has no idea what a door is. He just busts through walls, especially when I am involved. I’ve sent several bills for wall repair to the Justice League, if only they had a credit rating.”
“What do you want from me!”
“I want everything. I want to know who is organizing these protests. I want to know where Aurora is. I want to know why you feel you can try to annoy me.”
“I don’t know anything!”
“No I don’t think so, Mr. Mortenson, and sense you are reluctant to tell me what I want to know I have no choice but to let this Agent here remove your big toe.” The Agent ripped off Tim’s shoe and placed the chisel on the first digit of the big toe. Tim started to scream for Superman again. “This is your big chance Mr Mortenson, tell me what I want to know!”
“Oh my God, what do you want to know?!”
“Who is Organizing the protests?”
“LexWatch, LexWatch! LexWatch is organizing the protests.”
“Who are they?”
“They’re in California, I haven’t met them! They have been doing everything on the internet and over the phone. LexWatch is made up of several groups all over California. They all hate you there!”
“I already know all this, tell me names!”
“I don’t know any!” Lex nodded. The Agent swung the hammer onto the chisel. There was a heavy metal ringing followed by Tim’s screaming.
“Then your useless to me.”
The Agents began to drag the chair out of the room with Tim leaving a bloody trail from his ruined foot. It left Lex to think aout what he wanted to do. He wanted to make LexWatch pay, he wanted to make California pay. His desire to maintain his positive image has made his enemies think that he has become weak. That the Tiger has no teeth. It was time to make an example of California. It was time to make his presence known.
Reaching down with a latex glove, Lex picks up Tim’s big toe and walks out of the room. He follows the bloody trail to a overhead catwalk where the two Agents are about to dump the screaming Tim into a vat of corrosive chemical. The Agents pause at the President’s command. Tim understanding he is about to be disposed of screams for mercy and Superman. What he gets is his own big toe shoved into his mouth before Lex kicks him over the edge.
“When I am done California, LexWatch, and the World will know who own’s America.”
