You do what you want to do with your life Steph, and I don't think it's stupid. I'll have another 10 years before I can be a full fledged specialist anyway, and people maybe earning lots now, but can you imagine how much I will as a surgeon =P so people can just shut their traps. Experience is invaluable, we are all young, you just have to love what you do and you will succeed!
I'm totally behind your decision!
