I actually had someone tell me that I'm not a true patriot because I think they have every right to build the community center on land they bought.

Spot on (including the marriage stuff!). The thing of this little imbroglio that gets me is that (simply put) people ARE trying to constantly tell you how you should or shouldn't feel! You should feel 'offended' by a cross in a desert, but not this mosque! You complain about this president and people get offended by your inherent racism (Garafalo, i am talking about you!), yet it's open season on others! I am sick of it!

I liked the oriignal way - where states and towns ruled! It was like a big smorgusbord of ideology and community. If you felt one way - move to the place that was so. The Feds only looked out for national defense (not state defense), ensure basic god-given human freedoms and be a place to arbitrate state squabbles.

Of course, they shouldn't disallow a Pig Roast restaurant if it wanted to go next door....
