My PJ

May 28, 2008 14:22

I'm not sure just what I want to say here except that in an hour my PJ will go to sleep and not wake up again. I spent last night from about 2:00 am soothing her through seizure after seizure. She was having 4-5 an hour and this was the second night in the last week that this has happened. I am leaving for vacation on Friday and planned to take ( Read more... )

Pres, I'm so sorry! I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a longtime companion of the furry variety. It does get easier, but it hurts a lot at first. I'm glad you had a good 22 years with her, and I'm sure she knows how much you love her.

Heather :)

Thanks, Heather. It was really tough, but she went quickly, bitching all the way, God love her. I have been crying my way through returning unopened Fancy Feast, dumping her litter box and pitching the box and rug under it; cleaning up her food dishes and pitching the mat.I know it will get easier and I probably will get another kitty before the end of the summer, but it is so quiet. I miss my baby.

I'm so sorry, Preston,

I just lost my darling Matoskah,(above) last month. He suffered from seizures, too.

I know how you are feeling, right now, and you have my love, and a meow, from my cats, and a howl, from my pack, to speed her on her way to her new adventures.
Hugs, from me, too.
Anita.

Thanks, Anita. I have just gone through the house and cleaned up her food dishes and litter box. It just seems so empty right now. ::sigh:: I know it was the best thing, but I miss her.

There are no words to say Preston to make this loss any easier on you. While we all know we are born, we live and we die-when it happens to someone close to us, that has shared so much of our life with us-you lose a bit of yourself at the same time. But like losing a parent, there will be times when you will remember the fun things you did together and smile and is what PJ would want for you. To remember her with a smile on your face and realize your did have her longer than I think I have ever heard a cat living. WOW!! I don't think I've heard one living past 18 or 19. You must have treated her like royalty

lois, i had to laugh at the "treated her like royalty" comment. She was, as she would have told you, a princess...or maybe a queen by this time. I keep seeing her out of the corner of my eye - disconcerting and sad. I miss her terribly but know it will get better in time. Thanks for your thoughts. It does help.

Thanks, Lyn. I'm just back from vacation and the house is so very quiet. ::sigh:: I'm going to take a break this summer and wait to look for a new kitty (or two) until fall. Thanks for the thoughts.
