I'm watching the New Year's Eve marathon on Syfy right now. Last year, when I didn't have cable, I just played all the available seasons on Netflix.

What is your favorite car?

A Subaru Impreza; the one in the picture is a 2016. I not only learned to drive in a '95 Impreza, I drove it for nine years. Sadly, it died in April (in, it must be said, a grand way only befitting a car of its greatness... Or maybe a rejected Far Side strip) and I replaced it with a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. Don't get me wrong, my Cobalt is a nice little car and it runs great, and before I got it, it was a one-owner car (my stepdad, who was with me when I bought it and knows more than any human being should about cars -and who also loves Subarus- thinks it was probably a fleet car, which would explain how it's in such great shape at its age), but if I'd been able to afford a newer Subaru, I'd have gotten one. For better and worse, though, Subarus hold their value, so even a mid-2000s Impreza was out of my price range. But with my new job, I should be able to not only pay off my Cobalt in a few months, but start saving for a down payment on a new Impreza (or maybe a Crosstrek; it'll depend on where I am, both physically and financially, especially if I join Teach for America) in a few years. Even if I can't trade my Cobalt in on something else, I'm confident it'll survive another five years, easy, before it starts having "not worth it to fix" issues. (That my 20-year-old Impreza only started having those kind of problems when it was 18 years old is impressive; that car wasn't even running when my stepdad bought and Lazarus'd it.)
