how's my driving
Do you have any questions about how I play Rolo? Is there anything you feel is out of character or that you're uncomfortable with? Even if you feel my headcanon or the information I've provided is off or incorrect, please let me know. Anon commenting is on and IP logging is off. It's somewhat frustrating how most threads need to be focused on Rolo, or else you a) push the attention to shift to him, b) seem to lose interest?

Also. How you treat your CR. If their focus isn't on Rolo, and they live their lives only interacting with him every now and again, but don't specifically give him their all attention, then you seem to drop the CR? You also have this tendency to latch onto new and 'shiny', use them up, then drop them when something new and 'shinier' comes up. And don't bother much anymore with the old CR, unless they actively reach out. Perhaps it's IC for Rolo? I don't know, but it does put people off from even starting CR with you. Since it feels like they get thrown out after use.

Something to think about?

I'll definitely give it some thought and try to be a bit more consistent with my CR, anon. Thank you for bringing it up! Rolo is a bit... well, he is self-serving and a bit more interested in getting out of people what is beneficial to himself, so if he feels that someone isn't going to be useful to his ends, he won't spend as much time with them. However, I don't want people to feel that uncomfortable with starting CR with me, so I'll try to pull back on it just a little.

Keep me posted on how well I keep it balanced? I'd really appreciate it, anon! And thanks again for the input!

I imagine it might be difficult to thread the line between keeping Rolo IC and not making anyone feel left out and/or used OOCly (again, if it's specifically done ICly that right then Rolo's interacting with you, because you're useful for this one situation or a similar situation -- that's fine. But when you do point out that someone's useful for him period and then don't keep up the CR to show it too (because for reasons pointed out above -- that they don't keep their attention on him, perhaps?), that's when it's a problem?).

Anyway, good luck. I shall be watching and sure, I'll keep you posted.

Ps. I'm sorry if I sound somewhat incoherent, but I'm tired. It's pretty late.

RANDOM QUESTION FROM SOMETHING I JUST NOTICED TONIGHT BUT why are a lot of Rolo's posts auto-locked from BA, Erika, and Justin? I understand that ICly he may not want them to view his entries for whatever reason, but doesn't it completely block out certain character relations if Rolo never tags them? (I don't know if he does or not.) I mean, was this something you just DID or did you talk to the players you're blocking out over this? And what's the criteria for Rolo just blocking someone out of his entries? I don't know, without any of this knowledge it just seems...rude and uncomfortable I guess? IDK. So I'm asking |D

Oh, it was arranged already because he killed Erika under a pseudonym and doesn't want her to know his true identity, he doesn't like BA (and Nayru and I are going to work on a plot where she'll hack his entries at some point), and Justin was drugged by Rolo under a pseudonym. So he's hiding his identities from two of them and just avoiding the other.

Both Justin-mun and Erika-mun are aware. And we're working out a plot where Justin will eventually figure out who Rolo is and such.

So, he does have a reason for blocking them, and Rolo still does interact with all three, but not in his posts unless he deliberately leaves them open.

Does that make sense? xD;;;

OH OKAY YEAH IT DOES. Yeah, not like what I feel while reading Amatshit really matters, but that definitely does make me feel more comfortable reading Rolo's entries and potentially interacting with him now especially if he still does interact with all three. Thanks!

Haha, I'm sorry about that though. I thought people knew about it, sob. Yeah, he only filters Erika and Justin because they know what he looks like, but not who he really is. And he doesn't want them to figure that out.

BA is just annoying to him and she's dangerous, so he's avoiding her in his own posts just to keep his own skin safe. xD;

But yeah, I don't intend to block out too many other people unless it's a big plot point or something.

copy pasted for my benefitYeah, and there are characters who in canon have destroyed entire portions of the universe, ripped apart reality and are ace investigators who always find the truth. And even THEY are suffering consequences for their actions. Rolo is really not as special as you make him out to be. Take a lesson in toning it back and having him take the fall more often because you can't always be right. What you need to understand is you are in a game with a bunch of characters that ICly should be doing more but cannot always do so. So try to be more considerate of them ok?
Driveby anon agreeing with this. Almost every single character in Atia either always gets away with things or always stops people from getting away with things. How powerful or successful a person is in their canon has nothing to do with escaping consequences for their actions in a new setting where everyone is their own canon's special snowflake.

Way too extreme. Too moe or too pokerfaced. And it doesn't look like you've taken the advice about CR to heart. You're still really egocentric about which threads and posts you respond to and keep up with.

I'll try to work on balancing the moe/pokerface a bit more, Anon. Thank you for bringing that up.

But I'm a bit confused on what you mean about being egocentric with threads and posts. Could you possibly give me an example so that I can hopefully try to adjust that?

I see. It must be a bit of a subconscious thing on my part, but I'll try to work harder. Could you point out some threads that do this so I can know what I'm doing and try to avoid that in the future? I'm sorry if it's a bit of work, anon. It may have been that I was seeing things from a different perception and didn't pick up on it. But I'd like to fix that.
