First of all, I've deleted my Facebook account. There were a lot of reasons for me doing this, the main one being that I just wasn't using it, but here are other reasons:
- I've been hearing a lot of bad things lately about their privacy options lately, including an incident where several email addresses were revealed to the public for about a half-hour as well their declining privacy policy in general.
- I ended friending too many people, so that it was impossible to keep up with everyone. And of course that also means I friended people I shouldn't have, like people from high school. The one person I friended from high school that I actually want to keep up with, never posts anything.
- For some reason the ins and outs of Facebook always baffled me. Whenever I used it I always felt like a grandma who just discovered the Internet. And then I had to say stupid things like, "this doesn't usually happen to me," which calls to mind an entirely different situation you'd rather not associate with your grandma, but now your thinking it... Your Welcome. :)
In other news, Amy has officially moved in with me! Yes, I moved to Colorado and didn't immediately move in with Amy. Since our relationship started well before my previous one ended, I didn't want to jump into things too quickly. I wanted to take things slow, and yes this makes me a bit girly. What? The Dori icon didn't tip you off?
In other other news, I've setup a media center for the bedroom. I bought a cheap, but decent computer from a nearby store, installed Ubuntu and XBMC on it, and now I can watch DVDs, YouTube videos, any sort of video stored on my hard drive from the comfort of my bed. Also, I can control the whole thing with my iPhone! WOOO! The reason I didn't set this up on my living room TV is because my main computer is right next to my TV and so I already have it setup as an additional monitor. However, Amy and I are on a waiting list for a bigger apartment. When we move in there, my computer will move to an office and the media center will be hooked up to the living room TV in all of it's HD glory! Aren't you glad you read all of those boring details.
That's gotten pretty long for one of my posts. I was going to tell you a cool networking thing I did, but I'll save that for later. Bet you can't wait! :)
