I need some help for a personal project I am working on. Basically, I need to know the Mayan myths for the end of the world. Now, i know there is a lot of crap out there dealing with the whole 2012 thing and how that means we are all doomed. In fact, that is part of the impetus behind this project. But, I do not want the new age bullshit that is

If those exist they don't have to do with the maya calendar or 2012. Thats a made up thing.

Yeah, I saw that stuff. I don't need, nor do I even really want, something tied in with the calendar in any way. I just want to know the standard end of the world scenario that all cultures and religions seem to have. It strikes me as odd that the Mayans didn't seem to have anything about it (as far as I have found).

So why mayan? If you know some other end of the world myths why not use them?

I basically want to do something to play off the 2012 hype. Since that is linked to the Mayan calendar, it seems natural to tie in an actual Mayan belief system to my own plans. I do have some other end of the world mythologies I am playing around with in addition.
