So the oughts were not an ideal decade for music. They mostly got bogged down in lame nostalgia. However, there were some great records put out in the past decade, and some of them have had a great impact on me, both as a listener and as a musician. Let's get down to the top ten ( Read more... )

Arular ALMOST made my list. It's still pretty sick, I'd say. Everything anyone in pop is doing now was pretty much done first on that record.

another honorable mention (with HIGH honors) is White Rainbow's "Prism of Eternal Now," which is freaking awesome.

Awesome list. I've just been recently getting into Elliot Smith. I'm definitely interested in checking out any bands on here I haven't listened to yet.

On another note,

add me back? I love reading about people's opinions on music, and I hope to be doing some of the same in mine.

figure 8 and the black album are constantly on play in my car.

what more can I say?

yeah, the black album still gets a lot of spins, and figure 8 gets a lot compared to a lot of older records I've set aside for a while.
