The Part of You That No One Sees
You are balanced, peaceful, and sincere.
You're the type of person who goes along to get along.
And you're definitely afraid of rocking the boat.
Underneath it all, you fear your world falling apart.
You'll put up with a situation that you don't like in fear of changing it.
Disruptive and forceful people intimidate you - and sometimes exploit you.
What's the Part of You That No One Sees? Although it's a part of me that a lot of my family members see in me. So much for being the part that no one sees. :)
The beach was fun. There was an outdoor mall the equivalent to Downtown Disney. Named Broadway at the Beach it offered all sorts of stuff. There was a Hard Rock Cafe that resembled the Luxor. Planet Hollywood, Ripley's Aquarium, Kiss Coffeehouse (Which made Kiss look altogether very, very sad). Build-a-Bear, Club Libby Lu, John Deer Toys and Gifts, Random 70's-90's nostalgia store, two Ben and Jerry's, two The Fudgery's (name still gives me the teehees), red neck t-shirt stores (no I don't mean air brush kiosks though there were plenty of those to go around), Margaritaville, Senor Frog's (it just doesn't feel right outside of Cancun), a bunch of bars and night clubs for tourists a la Downtown Disney. There was also this thing called MagiQuest, a sort of Harry Potter meets Q-Zar.
The beach was very nice. The waves were small just the thing for Emily since she was a little leery of getting in the water. On Friday night she got a body board and tried it out on Saturday mid-day. Loads of fun of course. She caught a few waves that carried her all the way in. Before swimming though we went down to the old boardwalk. There were the typical gift shops, haunted houses, and old arcades. Trevor, his dad, and I played some Skee Ball. Emily played this old baseball game. It didn't spit out tickets but if you got 28 runs then you won a prize. Emily got 29. We were impressed. Emily chose a tie dyed dolphin.
After swimming we got cleaned up and went to Barefoot Landing. Similar outdoor mall but without all of the extra entertainment. This mall had a Ron Jon's. Oh yeah. Anyone from Florida or Jersey knows Ron Jon's Surf Shop. I've been to the Cocoa Beach location more than I can remember. I loved going there as a kid. So we went in. The same stuff I remember as a kid. A really cool surf shop complete with really sweet surfboards. Not that you really need them in Myrtle Beach. Since that is the case there was not even a tenth of what you could find in Cocoa Beach or Jersey. Trevor got a shirt. Emily got a Groovy Girl with a surfboard. Trevor's parents got shirts. I got a sticker for my car and a shot glass. We meandered around there for a little while before taking off.
Then we went to this seafood buffet. It was really good. A tad pricey but seafood usually is. Then we went back to that Broadway on the Beach thing. We walked around there for a bit. Emily got a lightsaber. We looked a lot of stuff.
On Sunday we got up a little later than we wanted to, but oh well. A quick bite to eat for breakfast, Emily and the grandparents took a walk on the beach for some seashells, Trevor and I packed like mad, and after the return of the child and grandparents we took off for one last walk through at Broadway on the Beach. Trevor picked up some wing sauce for a fellow employee. We said goodbye to Trevor's parents and wandered around for a little more. We hit the Disney Store and marveled how small it was. We've been in mall locations that were larger.
So all in all a great mini-vacation. We'll have to do it again sometime.
