RP Log w/Ernst
For their second fullmoon night at Budehuc, Norma and Ernst spend the evening together.
Norma: *has finished her first day at Watari's bakery and carrying a white paper bag. She knew Ernst must have left the workplace sometime after she spoke with him earlier in the day and went on her way to look for him*
Ernst: *quietly gazing at the fullmoon through a window inside the main manor hall, as the nights seem to get colder for him outdoors. As always, his thoughts run wild with all the things he wishes to talk about while he still can, and yet at the same time, he is never prepared for such social encounters*
Norma: *walks in through the heavy doors. Well, they seem heavy to her anyway. After successfully getting inside, she believes that she has spotted someone familiar near said window* Ernst? *that's right! A fullmoon night, so of course, he would be in human form so casually*
Ernst: *knows that voice all too well and turns around, focusing his moongazing eyes on her instead* Oh... you're done for today? *suddenly realized that it IS evening and sighs at his carelessness* Forgive me, I lost track of time.
Norma: You don't need to ask forgiveness because of something like that! *holds out the paper bag that contains that chocolate and vanilla donut she was talking about a few weeks back* And I am free for the day, um, night now.
Ernst: *smiles and takes the offered item* But I wanted to wait for you, and you just ended up looking for me instead. *peeks curiously at the mysterious paper bag* --and thank you..! Umm, what did you bring me...? *trying to guess the contents, as he's not sure if he's allowed to open it yet*
Norma: *somewhat mischievious smile* Oh, if you're saying that, then you have one guess. If you get it wrong, I'll have to take the bag back!
Ernst: *gulp* Are you serious? Just one guess...? That's quite a lot of pressure, Norma... *staring even harder at the bag, as if he's trying to evolve into a higher species with x-ray eyes*
Norma: *juuuust looking at him and again can't believe that he takes her seriously in these instances sometimes* Maybe it'd be a little more easy if you looked in the bag~?
Ernst: *now trying to sniff it (smells good!), before returning her a serious look* ...I think that would be cheating, actually. Are you saying you really won't be mad if I just looked in it? *somehow conflicted... on one hand, it WOULD make the task easier, but on the other, approving of such things would be so immoral!*
Norma: *Ernst you're such a... kill joy. Sighs and smiles anyway* No no, it's really okay! I made it myself and everything just how you normally like! See? I gave you a hint and everything.
Ernst: --a dessert! *said it almost instantly, forming a big smile on his face* It's something that you made, and I normally like... yes, it has to be a dessert. -- Oh no, did you want me to guess it specifically? *sweatdrop* I sort of like all of your food... *clutches tighter on the paper bag, he really doesn't want to give it up now :<*
Norma: It's round and it has a pesky hole in it like some other treat you've seen before, Ernst! I talked about it a while back after I got here~ You're going to make me think you don't pay attention to me... *faking a disappointed frown*
Ernst: *guh!* Norma, you know that's not true..! I'd never-- *fumbles as he tries to recall; clear memory not being one of his strong points* I just, I... I... wait, are you... it's that experimental one, isn't it? The one with the dare...? *eyes widen as he remembers the imaginary taste of it... <3*
Norma: Oh... you are right! *selective memory there, Ernst???* Mm-hm! That was the promise. If this wasn't to your satisfaction, you get to dare me to do something. .... Don't pull anything funny. *her warning doesn't sound serious though*
Ernst: Oh, was that the actual deal? *finally opens the bag and takes the donut with a napkin in his hand, because he's neat like that when it comes to her food* ....... *but drools just a little anyway ;;;* Norma...
Norma: What? *sighs again at his reaction, but is used to that and smiles as before*
Ernst: *makes a somewhat childish grin, not embarrassed about showing his unnatural sharp teeth as he might be falling in love... with this big delicious-looking, chocolate-vanilla donut* Norma, this looks... this looks amazing..! Why did you ever let me doubt you with that absurd deal?
Norma: *oh, she is blushing like a young maiden at hearing his compliment! If you could call her goofy expression that anyway.. ;;* O-oh, you mean that, don't you? *smooths out her pouffy skirt trying to hide her school girl face from before* Well, I don't have to do a dare and that's good to hear~
Ernst: *om nom nom'ing it as she speaks, what, he has to wait a whole month for these!* ...mm--of course I-- *chew chew* --of course I mean it. *gulp!* But to tell you the truth... I didn't really come up with a dare anyway... so-sorry! *concluded that he's just terrible at it* That's one game I definitely know I'll never be playing again...
Norma: Ahhh, that's too bad! Then again, who knows if that's a regular occurence at this place or not? I haven't run into someone playing it again in a while. So you're fortunate there. *looks down* ... I haven't been able to find that white-haired girl in the past few days...
Ernst: *doesn't want Norma to blame herself for that, too, and tries to put thought into what he says next* Me neither... that small presence she had while she was still here... I no longer feel it. *sighs and smiles for her* She cannot be found because she's not here... and there was nothing that we could have done until she got her memories relating to this rune back, right?
Norma: *was about to lament over this loss, but at least he was successful in alleviating her guilt... a little* Is that what happened...? I see, but I do wish I had tried harder. If I had stepped up to her or a bit more, maybe the constant reminder would have jogged her memory! *le sigh* That boy in the infirmary might still be around and that's our only other ray of hope here!
Ernst: *nods* That's more like it. Please don-- p-pardon? Did you... I didn't know about a boy in the infirmary. *sweatdrop* In fact... I don't even think I'm quite welcome there, hahah...
Norma: Yes. It was that somewhat... scary boy who was upset about having animals in the infirmary. I was trying to apologize to him about that one time after your fight and he asked me about you! Apparently, Percival said something to him and I was able to get him to agree to see your rune sometime!
Ernst: Really? *thinks about that... it certainly sounds like a ray of hope indeed* He really might be able to help us? The thought didn't even occur to me... *finishes eating that dreamy donut* See now? There's no reason for you to feel terrible after all, you do so much already. *using his napkin, he wipes most of the remaining chocolate around his mouth off, before murmuring to himself* Ahh~ so worth the anticipation...
Norma: That's right. But. He did say that he only used to study runes and that's why he wants to see it first before he can even say if he'd definately be able to help or at least tell us anything about it. *puts her hands together while thinking about it* It's better than nothing.. If only Levi was here.. *can't believe she actually wishes for that*
Ernst: He must feel the same way, I'm sure he's trying to find a way to reach us as we speak. He does still wish to take my rune... foolish as it may seem. *sighs and looks at the fullmoon again, which represents a ray of hope to him in itself* As for the boy in the infirmary, we'll just have to approach this like we normally would, which is that no matter what the outcome, we will be one step closer in knowing the real solution, no matter how small... *turns his focus back to her* ...right?
Norma: *has never minded that crazy idea of the old wizard's. If it cured Ernst, she secretly didn't care what was done with the rune after it was taken off her friend* You... *nods and presses her hands tighter* You're right! *swings them apart and tries to smile* I will do my best to have him meet with us! I don't want this opportunity to slip by like with that girl...
Ernst: *nervous laugh* Well, when you say it like that, I certainly hope you don't mean to push him too hard... he could be busy... a-and he seems short-tempered, especially when it concerns the infirmary...
Norma: Don't worry. With that bakery job, I don't have as much free time to... go "surveying" others of interest like him.
Ernst: *looks at her in disbelief, is that all she does in her so-called "free time"??* Oh...? I, for one, am quite glad that you're finally doing something else with your time. Just because I'm the one carrying this rune, doesn't mean that you can't have a normal life every once in a while, Norma.
Norma: *has heard this before many times* I know, I know... I think it's because I don't feel like I'm missing out on a "normal" life! We've always been together, so it doesn't seem like much is too different. *turns and makes a girly grin* Well, except for the leopard thing.
Ernst: Except for the leopard thing... *feels happy to hear that nonetheless, and not so much like a burden, at least for now* Well, I can't really argue with that, the longer I stay this way, the more "normal" it's starting to feel for me. My life back in Zelant feels so distant, to be honest... ah, please don't think it's weird! I mean, even so, naturally I still want us to go back to that life someday.

I'd like to go back to how simple it used to be. *is doing good so far not guilting herself about it being her fault for ruining that, but still ;;* I will never think of you as anything, but Ernst! Norma: *sweatdrop* Can we go back to the room? *doesn't want to admit that she's dead tired from that first day of work and she's never had to do a full day like that before ;;* I just need to lie down, b-but I'll stay up with you! Fullmoons don't come around often afterall.
Ernst: O-oh, of course, Norma... *was worried for a moment that she wanted to visit Luc at this hour* Let's go back, then, we'll stay up until the sun rises. *smiling, seeing no point in being against the idea, as he knows she'll fall asleep the moment she lies down anyway, while he patiently counts down to the next cycle*
This happened before today (meaning Saturday) so Norma's gonna rip her pigtails out after giving that speech and Luc's taken off. XD;
