You could always go for an "eighteen and a month-th" party.

Theres some pretty good shops around the town hall area (where i understand the mania of ani is).
if your after comics of any kind, you need to visit Kings Comics, which is on pitt street and up the road about 5 minutes (by foot) from pitt street mall (which is a few minutes from town hall).

and wagamama! you must go! queen victoria galleries, second floor. it's a japanese style noodle bar. try the ramen! try it!
