That's so sad about Dave. I can believe some families can let one of their members down like his did. It makes me wish I could do something for him.

I know it breaks my heart as well. He is such a lovely guy, but he has so many problems. Even though you can't do something for dave here's a challenge. When you next walk past a homeless man or woman, don't pass them by. Offer them food or drink (not money) and if they say yes ... buy them whatever they want. And then sit and talk with them for a while. Find out their name, who they are, where they've come from. Just share some love for a while. :)

I will do that. We actually talk about it with Antonéta once, and said that what was sad was that most of the time, when you give them money they spend it on cheap alcohol or cigs. :( I hate it when they have dogs or cats too. You just want to give them the key to your place so they have a warm place. Once, we were queueing at the university's restaurant, and this homeless man asked for a student to offer him a meal (a meal only costs 2.70euros). Nobody accepted. I would have done it but unfortunately I had forgotten my card on that day. Anyway, it was Anto, me and another friend Maxence (Maxence = only child from a rather "wealthy" family) and he said "Oh, can't he leave us alone? It's not a place to beg for food, and why doesn't he try to find a job anyway?" Antonéta and I were so shocked. That's the kind of speech you may expect from someone's who never had money problems.
