Well I started my new job today. I'm working at the Chesterbrook Academy in Moorestown. It's pretty much the same as the other Chesterbrook, just different people and a little bit bigger, they have an extra classroom or two. I was in the younger toddler classrooms all day. Hey, I would really really love to work with kids this summer, also being an education major...any ideas? I would love your input!

Hmmm...well I guess it really depends on what age group you want to and feel comfortable working with. There's always JCC but the pay stinks so thats why I wouldn't work there, a lot of daycares have summer programs for elementary students if you want to work with that age group. I think almost all of the Chesterbrook Academies in the area are still hiring. I also heard that YMCA programs pay pretty well but I honestly don't know if thats true, somebody just told me that but I never actually checked it out. From my experience with going on interviews and filling out applications with daycares that have been hiring is that there is no guarentee on what age group you would work with, but that could be because for me personally it doesn't matter to me so I never actually specified to them. So maybe if you called and said a certain age you wanted to work with that could work for you. I'm not sure when you get done school, but the Medford school district is looking for people to work for the before/after school programs and thats run by ( ... )

Thank you so much for all of your advice. I called 11 day cares today and 4 of them took my name and number. I also e-mailed the YMCA a few days ago so I think I will call and do a follow-up tomorrow. I had also seen the ad by the Medford school districts in the paper, so I am going to check up on that too. Thank you for your input and I will let you know how it all works out for me!
