That was the only worthwhile thing about laser discs... their commentarys were A LOT better... There are books you can buy that review whole catalogs of laser discs but your best bet might just to be see what you CAN buy online and then check out the reviews from a site like this one.
Most Criterion releases on DVD were direct lifts from the laserdisc counterpart. I think that was their explanation why the DVDs were so expensive when they first came out. Chasing Amy, for instance, was $35 bucks ON SALE the day it was released. It's now dropped down to about $14.99, I think.
My friend gets all his used laserdisks from this rad video store in Seattle called Scarecrow Video. On their site they link to their stuff for sale. They don't always have laserdisk stuff on eBay but they always have it in store. You should email them if you want a particular title. They're totally boss and have the most incredible selection of movies evAr.
