I think that's really terribly sketchy. How can we get pissed off when they put pics of dead Americans on the air and gloat over it, when we're then putting pics of dead Iraqis on the air and gloating?
al-Zarqawi may have been a citizen of Jordan, but naming his faction "al Qaeda in Iraq" did give him a certain Iraqi legitimacy. Like a Massachusetts boy portraying himself as a Texan.
As for ostensibly fighting for noble purposes, I'm sure that's what the terrorists believe they are doing too.
That's what I was talking about in my last post. On one hand, you feel like, "Hooray, he's dead," but on the other hand it just feels weird to gloat about someone's death.
Seriously, if Osama died, I'll bet there'll be a parade in New York. Or at least, there should be. I bet the headline on the Post would read, "Burn In Hell, Fuck Face."
