Why is it that every disney movie has a single parent theme? you never have one with 2 parents. or if they start with 2 parents, inevitably one of them dies a rather horrific death. anyone else notice this and have any theories as to why?

So did Lion King II (Simba and Nala), Peter Pan (Wendy-bird and sibling's parents), 101 Dalmations (and subsequent sequels), Mulan, The Incredibles, Kim Possible (even if they were made for TV movies), Lizzie McGuire (same as Kim possible), Hercules (does it count of dad was a god?)
So THERE! lots of 2-parent movies. Although there is this heavy favor of mom dies and dad takes care of the kids thing going on.
Walt either wanted to show that men could take care of kids too, or just revelled in the fact that he could kill off women easily.
I personally think he just liked drawing massively bearded men. You notice most all the dads have full on beards?

Mulan's dad didn't have a beard.
And ok, so there are a few dual parent movies (and the parent trap doesn't count because they start as being single parents) the majority of them are single parents. And if they're single dad's, they're awesome. If they're single moms, they're evil. Notice that?

Parent Trap still counts because there is still two parents, even if they're divorced/seperated/whatever.
And Mulan's dad DID have a beard. Maybe not a massive "I stroke it while I think and try to look pensive" beard, but it's still a beard!
While yes, most of the movies are single parent movies, I can't think of a single birth mother who was evil aside from Lion King 2 where she was the main protagonist.
And moms aren't evil, according to Disney, it's the stepmoms. Snow White, Cinderella, Ella Enchanted.. yeah. All step moms.

This is my theory.
