So I finished reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels last night. 10 books, 5 days. I think I made good time. And I've noticed there are some major discrepancies between the books and the show True Blood. I love the Eric in the books. Alan Ball who produces True Blood is a big Bill/Sookie fan and I think that he deliberately makes Eric not as nice so he can keep Sookie with Bill. At least until the fans revolt, because Bill is lame and Eric is awesome...

You would think though that they would try to be more faithful to the books, at least in the ways of the relationships. We'll see what happens in season 3 I guess.

And I still wonder if they're trying to push the Bill/Sookie thing because the actors are engaged in real life and they're trying to keep them happy.

I have a feeling that that might be the case. Alan Ball has said before that the primary relationship will be between Sookie and Bill - if that's the case I'll not be a happy camper.

But why? Sookie and Bill aren't even a couple after Book 2. Why introduce Alcide and I'm assuming they'll introduce Quinn at some point, which are again, more of Sookie's love interests. I don't get why they're keeping Sookie/Bill as the main focus.
