Update - wilted the kale in broth, thickened the broth by pureeing 1 cup of the veg and letting it cook down a bit. Put the sauce over veg and chicken. It was yummy. Might skip the turnip next time and just use carrots.

Forgot to say. The broth turned out a dark golden brown color which did did not stain the meat.
