Memorial Service of Yet Another Friend.

A part of my found family in Winnipeg, Doug Shewfelt, passed away on February 10 of a heart attack. I went to the memorial service on Friday. It was held at St Andrew's United Church in Manitou MB.a small town about 2 or so hours drive from Winnipeg. I haven't been in touch with Doug in many years, but he was a great friend to me in my teenage IRC days. He helped me with my early computer science homework, gave me cool CDs, and took time out of his visits to MiniCon to come and have lunch with me when I was an undergraduate at Carleton.

I'm very sorry to hear of his passing, but so glad that so many of his friends and family were there to remember him. We hadn't spoken since my sophomore year of college, but I'd often remembered him and the care and kindness he showed to me in high school and in college.
