SHINee (~from my tumblr)

i dont understand why a lot of shawols and nonshawols think that SHINee is slowly degrading from the kpop industry and SM is starting to dump them~

why can’t people see how successful SHINee is, so far, since their debut 4 years ago? Having continuous concert tours in and out of Korea every year, and an outstanding Japan Arena tour with a total of 20 stages for more than 200,000 audience, are no ordinary scenes.

SHINee is even surprised how SM lets them produce 5 singles in a year even when they just debuted in Japan last year. SM, believe it or not, is extremely doing better in giving SHINee an opportunity in Japan. Each of their singles always top the Oricon Chart. They have also established their Japanese fanclub. if we look at the pattern, anyone who does well in Japan, comes back to Korea, even better. e.g. DBSK and SNSD.

When SHINee came back to Korea for Sherlock, SM paid the most expensive choreography in their history and started their new teaser strategy (medley-thing of album) with SHINee.

Another is that some compare SHINee with other kpop groups. For example, I have seen lot of comments and posts and a lot of Shawols think that because SM focuses more on EXO, SHINee is being left out and they don’t give quality songs for SHINee. Some compare SHINee to how SM leaves out SJ for SNSD before. That attitude never goes away whenever a group in SM does better over the others or when one SM group is given more spotlight among the others at a particular time of the year. duh? EXO is their new group so it’s pretty natural and obvious that they should promote them more on their first year so they can also do well in the next years. SM holds a lot of popular groups and it’s also hard for them to handle each and make a productive comeback for them. Haven’t you seen how every SM group sells over a 100,000 albums a month for their comeback each year? With a growing number of kpop groups in Korea, SM still does good on providing resources and production for their groups.

Moreover, if we even compare SHINee’s debut year to EXO, SHINee had a more hectic debut year. SHINee debuted in May 2008 with a mini-album as well and promoted Replay. After 3 months, SM released SHINee’s first full studio album and promoted Love Like Oxygen. Then at the same year, they re-released the full album and came back to promote AMIGO. At the same year, SM announced SHINee’s official fan club and fan color.

it’s pretty normal for SHINee to go down someday. Of course, they are growing up. and being in the industry is not long-lasting especially with the fast variations of trends today and the debuts of new group. Let us just enjoy the fact that SHINee is still doing good and they are not even in their peak yet. They are still maturing and finding out more about themselves and their capabilities.

I really get disappointed when I see that Shawols themselves think that SHINee is degrading and their popularity is decreasing and some turn out to leave the fandom. Just believe in them,k?
