[RL with Ramza]

Aug 30, 2007 12:30

Everything was so quiet about that humble little town now. People were staying as far away from the rooster's ranch as possible...he'd made quite the impression in the short time he had changed.

As he sat on his porch, he noticed even his faithful steed was doing its best to stay away from him, nearly hiding behind the home. Panchito snorted, and ( Read more... )

Ramza had never traveled the worlds before, but Ultima's powers led him through the weaves of worlds living on in futility, dying gloriously. and being reborn in spite. The world holding his first victim fast approached. He decided to make some changes in that bird's opinion of him and take him screaming into death.

As Ramza approached, the sky began to darken with thunderclouds, the air itself began to crackle with anticipation. The world itself was both excited and filled with trepidation at his coming. Everything seemed to hold it's breath.....

The end was nigh.

Panchito had indeed noticed the odd weather changes...so be it. Perhaps any oncoming rain would allow him to see Ramza die in the mud. What incredible fun, to see his opponent humiliated in every single way.

"You took your sweet time." The rooster said rather coldly...

Then he suddenly raised his arms, and fired a shot from each gun right at his foe. There was going to be no mercy here.

Raising his sheild, the bullets made a PWING noise as they charged harmlessly into the unforgiving metal, failing to damage Ramza. He spoke, "I have no reason to hasten my journey to deal with the likes of you, fowl. Your end will come, regardless of my speed in dealing it." Having said that, he unsheathed his claymore and leapt into the air to deal an overhead sword smash unto this foolish bird.

He certaintly hadn't seen that attack coming. It was sheer miracle that made him run in time, although he did receive a nasty cut to his arm. He screeched in pain, as red blood flowed down red feathers.

"You're going to pay for that!" Panchito screamed, skidding to a halt.He turned around, and released an almost endless barrage of bullets.

And then suddenly there was light.

"Oops, sorry," a female voice apologized. Death dimmed the lights a bit in her apartment. "I always forget how bright it can be when people transcend."

She walked over and placed a plate of cookies and a mug of coffee next to the visitor who was now materialized on her couch.

"Nice to finally meet one of you, I guess," the girl smiled. "I'm Death. ...But I suppose you knew that already."

The rooster blinked, slowly taking in his surroundings. He looked to the offerings, and then to the beauty before him.

Which, of course, eliminated all fear or confusion he had.

Panchito quickly sat up straight, trying to be a gentleman. "Senorita Death!"he chirped, rather pleasantly. "So good to meet you face to face! You have even a prettier face close up!"

...Then it sunk in, and curiosity made his head tilt."...Where am I?"

Death gave him a sad smile. "You're... dead, Panchito. I'm sorry."

She sat down next to him. "Well, specifically, you're at my apartment. I tried to decorate it as nice as I could for you." She gestured around her. Adorning her apartment were tapestries of vibrant colors, a pinata hanging near the kitchen entryway, and a guitar leaning against the wall. "Dammit," she said. "I forgot to make the taquitos."

She touched him on the shoulder. "You can stay as long as you want."

"...Dead?" Panchito slowly whispered, looking up at her. That was impossible. He could feel his heart beating, he was sitting right next to her!

...Things slowly had begun to click. Her odd name, her knowledge of his birth, the way other people on the comm had seemed angered or frightened of her. She was Death? Literal and true Death?

He looked back down at his hands, which no longer had splatters of blood. That's right...Ramza...Ramza cut me...because...I was trying to kill him...

Panchito paused, before looking right up at her again, somehow smiling again. "Gracias, senorita Death. You are far too kind."
