If you have to put a guide at the opening of the fic to explain which anglicized names represent which characters, you are doing it wrong.

(exceptions being fandoms like Digimon where there are canon anglicized names, in which case you STILL shouldn't need a guide)

idgi are they making up their own names for the characters, or letting Readers know the Japanese and English(/+others) names that pair with which characters?

The former? How very daring.
The latter? How very unnecessary, considering it's fanfiction.

Making up their own names! IDGI. I was pointing out that the latter totally is unnecessary, and that the former is SUPER unnecessary. What a way to drive people away from what could be a totally cool fic. (I'm not here to read about Nathan and Sean, I'm here for Naruto and Sasuke! D:<)

ACKSHUALLY it was a Saiyuki fic, but seriously, like Cody and Greg or whatever? For Sanzo and Goku? WTF.

I'M SURE THERE ARE SASUNARU FICS LIKE THIS OUT THERE. And now I kind of want to see them, too. Why didn't we think of this when writing the badfic?
