Notes: Yeah not sure where this came from, it's kinda depressing even for me lol
The blinding light faded and Dean opened his eyes just in time to see the sword he had driven through Lucifer’s heart clatter to the ground, the borrowed body surrounding it having evaporated. The remaining demons fled, finally allowing him to cross the room to where Castiel was bound to a chair more by the sigils carved into his skin than the ropes at his wrists. He knew it was too late, the angels skin was already ashen, his eyes lifeless and blank. Dean fell to his knees and wept silently.
Lucifer was dead, but Dean’s world had ended anyway.
