Hating this series of Doctor Who? I have a simple solution: DON'T WATCH IT. It's not that hard, omg. I did the same thing last year! I still haven't seen End of Time and Waters of Mars! That's at least a good hour and a half of time I used doing things I actually enjoy! It saves negativity! I've become a recent believer in positive energy and ( Read more... )

WORD. That's what I did with Glee- I dropped it and I'll let the LJ fun go on without me, lol. I love me some S5 though.

HI, I LIKE YOU. I can understand sticking with a show out of some feeling of ~loyalty~ and all that (I've done that with a couple of shows before), but it seems like the most virulent of negativity is coming from the camp that was already pre-disposed to hating on it before the series even began. For the most part, I enjoyed the first four series' (I wouldn't own them on dvd if I didn't), but series five is giving me so many feelings and happy times that makes me already want to call it my favorite. I adore this series.

Dude, what you said. (Speaking as another person who dropped Glee, it really does make things all better.)

Also, asd;fjslkjdf RORY. I spoilered myself for it a little and still my eyes got all water-y. I am hoping, though, that he will come back because dammit, he has to.

I'm not enjoying this season as much as past ones, but I don't hate it. I keep watching because I'm hoping it will get better. I like 11, I like Rory, and I like the crack in the wall plot line. I'm not a fan of Amy, but I can look past her as long as the rest of the show keeps me entertained.

I haven't seen more than a few disgruntled opinions about this season on my friends list, so I'm surprised to hear that there's a segment of the viewing public that don't like it. I'm not involved in the fandom though, so I can't say I was really looking for what people were thinking.

I do agree though. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, if you don't like a show, don't watch it!

You know, when I got sick of what was going on in the RTD-era, I actually did stop watching, and kept not watching until I had a reason to believe it was heading back in a direction I'd enjoy again. And it was a lot more pleasant than the "If I keep watching, and getting really, really, angry at the show, it'll stop doing things I don't like!" approach.
