This is an absolutely amazing meta. Brittany is hilarious and has a real love for K/S. I read most of this before I had ever seen TOS and she had me laughing to the point of tears anyway. I do not want to make this review very long, because I am going to make the links outrageous. Hopefully it will make it easier on you guys though, if you want to ( Read more... )

Wow! These are marvelous commentaries on the episodes. I used to be a huge Star Trek fan. I was a font of trivia on the original series, especially. It's tragic how much I've forgotten. Still, I loved these anyway.

You remind me of another set of commentaries I read. This fan was analyzing each episode for how Kirk acts around women. It was fascinating, because she didn't consider him the womanizer that he is so famously considered to be. She went through each episode (I don't know where she got to in the series, but she'd done a lot of them), and concentrated on the scenes that had women in them. Basically, her point was that he treated women with great respect and complete professionalism in most of his interactions. I'll have to find them again, because I never finished reading.

Anyway, I read your sidebar stuff, and I really liked how you characterize both Kirk and Spock. I think I can agree with all of it. Although, I think the Kirks and Spock of the Original and Reboot versions have slightly different characters.

If you do find those commentaries, I would love it if you could share the link. Also, I agree completely that the Reboot Kirk and Spock are different from TOS so I am really excited to see the next movie to get to know them better. Why did you stop being a huge Star Trek fan? Think you'll start back up? What are you into now, if you don't mind me asking?

I actually had them bookmarked properly, so I found them as soon as I started looking. That's rare for me. *g* It looks like she finished season 2, but hasn't done anymore since April of this year, unfortunately. The link to the tag page that has all four parts (each season is broken into 2 parts) is hereI hope you enjoy it. I certainly found it fascinating (to steal a phrase ( ... )
