latest university shooting: too politically incorrect?

What happened at the University of Alabama is a tragedy on many levels, and the following is almost a petty point, but still.  It always irks me that in cases such as this the alleged perpetrator's picture, life story, achievements, and shortcomings are detailed in the main news media.  Yet those, whose lives were cut short, whose families are left ( Read more... )

I'm very impressed that you went to the department website! And given your findings, I agree with you - it should be discussed, political incorrectness be damned. That said, I'm sure it is SUCH a can of worms...

i am definitely not the only one looking at the department page - it is accessible only intermittently.

some recent first-hand accounts suggest that she just started shooting, and if her gun had not jammed, she would have continued with the others in the room as well. So it may be the coincidence that the 3 minority faculty members were seated in such a way that she picked them first. I guess I am giving the press a benefit of a doubt, not a very big on though.

yes, a can of worms, which is precisely why it has to be air out.

yeah, weird, although perhaps, by not following the news closely I have too narrow of a view. recent first-hand accounts suggest that she was just moving down the row and shooting. a bizzare and tragic situation...
