OOC: discedo report for miniskirts4all

again, this is ICly unavailable! a report compiled for colonel mustang at request

FORTUNA;
Discedo: central power, formerly thriving city. Ravaged by ATROPOS virus, all locals deceased except for the Scientists. Used to contain a desert -- houses located, deserted. One month of rain turned the desert into a lake. Contains a subway, explored by others but no personal account yet.
Accido: Discedo rival. Potentially former ally. Launched a satellite last year -- "Accido 008" which crashed into the city and exploded. Composed mostly of aluminum-magnesium-titanium alloy, but contained elements and metals that couldn't be placed, replicated or alchemized. Labeled as a "spy satellite," contained one visible camera.
Dissimulo: Small town. Farming village. Occupied by Accido, contains a "prison camp." Subway seems to lead back to Discedo, but is blocked off.
Prison camp: Term applied loosely, less of a "prison" camp than an experiment. A laboratory.
Sector green
"They say you do not need your name anymore
Your name is Green and that is all you need
to identify you
What is my name?"

Written in blood.

"Humans playing God.
It's despicable.
They call to other worlds for help
But it is too late for us now."

"WHO CAN FIND THE CURE FIRST?
We're just guinea pigs to Discedo's and Accido's personal rivalry."

"Green is our name
That is our name
Green is our name
That is our name."

Research Lab?
Diary. Mostly unreadable -- anatomical drawings, scientific/medical illustrations.

Last entries:

"He did it. That bastard re______id it.

I know it was him.

T____aid it was an accident but it was him. He can't hide the truth. He kil_____y Lizzy. Took her away.

Gone.

Gone.

All gone."

-----

"We meant it for the best."

Found a letter nearby on a desk.

Mister West,
We would like to thank you and your lab for your continuing support, funding and material. As requested, we have enclosed detailed reports of our findings in the form of written reports and a collection of video tapes.

Met Lolita (scientist, see below) when I traveled out of the city, to the prison camp/research lab. She showed us a video of a woman being cut into. Experimented on. Remarkable resemblance to Green (scientist, again, see below).

Hollisland: Little known.

ATROPOS;
Destroyed the natural population of Discedo. Potential threat to Accido. Discedo and Accido cooperated to create a vaccine for the virus, presumably too late. Found hospital records of virus patients, but they were abnormally generic.
"Following extensive consultation, dialogue, and review, a conclusion and agreement has been reached:

Recognizing the various and mutual interests of the participants, and recognizing both the current state of affairs and a mutual need, both participant groups agree to share research, facts, techniques and facility conditions in order to reach a satisfactory product.

We are pleased to put aside differences in order to work together with Discedo's facilities in order to produce the results that are needed.

Supervisor Benton West
Accido Research Institute"

Atropos made a comeback around December or January before I got to the city. Victims who died were revived by the Scientists.

SCIENTISTS;
Lolita: Real name Sofia, "Sofie." Last name Trevor. Family: Nathan and Emily, deceased.
Green: Delilah. Originates from Dissimulo. Last name Eckel.
Ace: Name unknown, nicknamed "Sweet One" by some residents.
Phineas: Name unknown. Killed.
Javaid: Name unknown.
Holden: New arrival. Currently seems to be in charge of requests in the city.
Grendel: New arrival. Asks questions.
Miriama: Sent by Accido. She arrived claiming to be like the rest of the residents -- a victim of the Scientists' kidnappings. She was sent here with a mission, did not disclose the details. Said there were others like her. Natives?
Q: Real name unknown. Claims to be a Discedo native.
John Summers: Relation to Lolita?... Seemed to feel aggression/hatred toward the Scientists, reason unknown. Deceased.
"Milo": Last name Eckel. Assumed to be Green's younger brother. Deceased.

Whereabouts: Large building/complex, no windows. Potentially underground, but it's hard to say for sure. The compound had working electricity, notably. Large enough for each person to have their own room. It has enough electricity to power working lights in those rooms, as well as the machinery for bringing people to and from the city.

Machine: Is used to bring people in from other worlds, and to send them home. It's large and complicated -- I couldn't tell how it worked just by looking. However, they seem to have a good idea of who they're bringing in when they do it. Javaid joked(?) that when bringing a person named Wolverine, he was looking for someone named Waldo. They know the people by name, that much is for sure, and they know a good damn amount about most of the people here.

Death revivals: Scientific process similar to surgery. I didn't get to see exactly how it was done, but there was an operating room. Somehow they can revive the people of Discedo but not any of the locals.

Microchip: Blocks powers, also potentially used to track people. Occasionally malfunctions, changes peoples' personalities and has other unusual effects. Has yet to hurt anyone of its own accord, but the effects on peoples' minds is alarming. Purpose of the chip is unknown, theoretically to make the people in town more like the locals -- powerless. It's replaced whenever someone dies, and sometimes moved to a new location.
