Last week I read Ham on Rye by Charles Bukowski. I liked it; I was pretty impressed by its naturalistic approach. The book is formally a work of fiction, but the understanding is that the story is nearly autobiographical. I think it counts as Gonzo. You don't have to be high, in a sexual relationship with a car, or wearing a gorilla costume to be gonzo.
