I would think that talking about the people would make the more interesting story. Human interactions form a huge part of the greater corpus of literature; an odyssey into weird military research programs seems like it would be a mantra of, "We tried _____; results were statistically insignificant,"
Ronson doesn't draw any firm conclusions regarding the validity of these abilities, but many of the people he interviews are convinced. Or, more interestingly, they are less convinced than they at first appear. :)
