Re-evaluating

So here I sit, at home, on Halloween. A long string of things has led to this point, among them the cancellation of several parties, the unexpected sickness of the person who was going to help me make my costume, and so on. I feel like this is my own fault to a large extent, though

Also I'm a college student that was invited to about 2 dozen parties and I'm still at home on Halloween, what does that say about me?

Sure, neglecting the friends I already have in favor of shiny new ones is a time-honored pattern for me. (That probably sounds sarcastic, but really it isn't... I'd love to get coffee.)

No, I'm not (that's why I didn't RSVP) - this weekend I'm getting on a plane to visit my family in Chicago. I so rarely see them.
