Thank you so much for saying what you have just said.

You are 100% correct. There is no evidence in any of the Harry Potter books for Remus' relationships with the Marauders to be anything other than, shall we say?, "brothers from another mother," type of thing. Again, Sirius and Remus share a brotherly hug, James married Lily and kept his finances afloat, and Peter was a rather bit of a joke in school.

Remus' only love interest ever shown is, in fact, his wife, and he does have a child. Disassociating everything fandom has ever had to say about Remus, he is completely straight, that is all there is to it.
