This is good stuff.. .
Though I disagree with your general take on dreams. I don't believe that most dreams are pointless. I believe that most dreams seem pointless at first glance because they are precisely NOT what the conscious mind wants to understand - exactly because they represent the contents of the UNconscious mind. Really important stuff resides there (in the unconscious), and generally stuff that comes up in dreams is stuff that is only beginning to become conscious in our waking lives. Dreams contain symbols which need translation to be understood in terms of the logical, rational thinking mind. They work on and come from a much deeper level than that of the thinking mind.

The reason I said that is because there are certain qualities to dreams that I feel have value. The dreams where I am just rehashing the day are, to me, just idle spinning of the mind, and pretty much pointless. Dreams where I am fully conscious, or where I am the dream itself, have a deeper intrinsic value for me because I know that a deeper level of my being, something other than just mind, is being tapped into. Dreams where answers come to questions I may have are valuable. Dreams that I fly in are just gravy! :)
You are involved with dreamwork and some type of teacher, right?

of sorts. I trained with Robert Moss in conscious dreaming and am completing my BA with a focus in paleopsychology, which includes depth and archetypal psychologies. I offer workshops in dream work and constellations. I'm formulating a process to combine constellations with dream images and archetypes where clients can face unconscious energies consciously. It's loads of fun.
