It's not okay!!!

Okay, so Yuri picked up his sword to protect people. In the process, he learned that more bad comes out of it, he became a criminal, these are all things he accepts and deals with. It doesn't dent him so much as it taught him to be more respectful of killing/consequences. He felt he came out a better person for it too!

Then Judith died and Yuri saw himself as responsible. He even got so caught up in his anger that he didn't even try to save her, he wanted to avenge her. This hit him rather hard, because he never really saw himself as a danger to other people, as a person who would cut down the people closest to him. Even with Estelle and her asking him to, he found another way. But in this instance, he didn't and he couldn't even save Judith. It made everything he'd done, learned to seem completely meaningless. Which is why he stopped wearing his sword. His mentality is such; if I can't save people with my sword, I have to find another way to do it.

Judy's thoughts?

You were waiting for that, huh.

Okay, so Leto clearly said he has a lot of mixed feelings for Charles Xavier. He doesn't like the decisions Charles made in the past (especially with his sister >E) and isn't all that surprised at the way it came tumbling down at him. Despite that, Charles is empathic, kind, open to making friends and is capable of doing so. Leto... can't make friends as easily, doesn't know how, can't even if he really wanted to, his inherent nature preventing him for really connecting well with others. So, to see someone, in similar circumstances to himself, but with different qualities, it makes him a little jealous, a little hateful. He's open to admitting that, being a critic.

At the same time, Leto just flat out loves Charles for going on, for picking his side, for helping people even when he's the one who needs help. Leto respects his strength, believes in him and his ability to make the right decisions. The only problem is that Charles has been badly hurt over the Cuba incident and not exactly coping well to ( ... )

So Charles took a shine to Leto right from the get-go, as I've said before. What happened when he de-aged, though -- the way that Leto took care of him, basically giving to Charles, in moments, what he'd never had throughout his entire childhood -- Charles has been kind of completely wrapped around Leto's little finger ever since then. Leto went from being an interesting friend and a quirky roommate to being family. And Charles just loves people in general, but his love for his family -- family by choice, more so even than family by birth -- is immense ( ... )

Leto loves Ghanima. There's no ... two ways about it. He's always loved her, will always love her, cannot imagine a day going by without loving her. Leto is very clear that his love for Ghanima is different from any kind of love there is. She is his other half, the one who compliments him, who saves him from himself. Without Ghani, Leto is just half of a person he is. Leto's love for Ghani transcends everything.

But they're no longer this "one soul". By taking on the worm-skin, he doomed her and himself. Leto is stuck in a series of events he can't escape and Ghani is forced to watch him suffer. He's happy that she's here, knows that it'll be good for him and she'll be able to control his awful moodswings and the intensity of his emotions. But at the same time, having her here means she'll be able to see him suffer. Ghani can outlive her lifetime in camp, gaining Leto precious time with her but he feels he's already lost and making Ghani go through that pain seems like a terrible thing for him to do it to her ( ... )

Leto thinks Erik is hilarious. His motivations, the way he does things, his ideal world is just extremely amusing to Erik because Erik is making himself out to be the bad guy for good, but he has no idea of how bad it will get. Or how bad it will corrupt him. So Leto likes to tease him in those areas and generally mess him around a little.

Still, it bothers him the way Erik enjoys the skin and his differences. For Leto, those differences compound his inability to connect with people, to make him different and alone for eternity, so he gets visibly irritated/confused when Erik purposely points them out and appreciates them. He knows Erik does it partly because he likes to unnerve Leto, but he still can't wrap his mind around it. He does like Erik, though not at the same level as he cares for Charles and he does feel Erik will do great things, if he doesn't end up destroying himself first. Leto is very fond of him, just not enough for Leto to stop bullying him.

So Erik told Leto that he wants ugly things from him but also likes him and that was a very honest statement. There is basically not a single motivation that Erik has regarding Leto that is admirable, but completely aside from those, he's strongly drawn to Leto and likes being with him. Obviously, part of that is that he's very unique, but Erik also likes the philosophical nature of him and, let's face it, he wouldn't be in love with Charles Xavier if he didn't like trolls. He doesn't always appreciate when it's directed at him, but something that's been true since their first conversation is that he does appreciate the challenge. Erik is fairly self-aware for someone so damaged, and he refuses to stick to his beliefs blindly, so even if Leto pisses him off or makes him uncomfortable because he's said something true that Erik doesn't like, it doesn't take long for Erik to assimilate that into his belief system, to justify and rationalise. ERIK IS PRETTY AMAZING AT NOT LETTING PEOPLE FIX HIM, OKAY. That said, the fact of Leto caring ( ... )

So their recent thread has been pretty good in terms of Leto's development. Leto has never accepted personally affections. In his entire time in camp, he has ignored them, rejected them and generally trolled the fuck out of anyone who comes at him. But Leto himself is changing, even if he hasn't really realized it. Leto has become lonely, caged. He started feeling like he never mattered and spent most of his time in an empty cabin because everyone had left him. So, he stopped being as defensive and closed-off as he usually was. He started allowing people in, making more than generous allowances into his life ( ... )
