Notes: It's icy in South Texas for the first time in several years, and no one can drive. This came to me on the way to work this morning, as I was nearly plowed in to by a FedEx truck. Also, I'm a total newbie. Please thwap me for any unintentional Americanisms :)
It's not a dinosaur. Not some huge prehistoric mammal, not a monster unknown to the fossil record or a nightmare from some terrifying apocalyptic future.
Instead it's a lorry with an inattentive driver. It's a bit of fog, and a knock on the door far too early in the morning.
It's a properly sympathetic officer carrying Connor's things and presenting them to her with apologies, that there was nothing they could do.
Abby takes it all, numbly, because she’d somehow forgotten that there were dangers that had nothing to do with anomalies or the things that came out of them.

Also: Is it just me, or does this fandom really like doing bad things to Connor? (Not that I mind, because he's wonderful emotive and...whumpy) :)
