I've met Cupid before, actually.

If I didn't know better, I'd say this was his handiwork--the state of the City today, that is. He can be rather mischievous when he cares to be, after all. It's not that there's anything wrong with falling in love at first sight, of course, but...well, there can be wrong reasons behind it, I suppose. Or poor ( Read more... )

taking care of business, not that kind of girl kthx, curse: stupid cupid, rosella's thoughts on love, optimism level is dwindling, bad memories, shakespeare is my homeboy, a modern sort of princess, curses suck, unaffected, this place is weird beyond belief, missing daventry

... unrequited love, huh.

Some of the curses do seem to cause the most pain and embarassment in their aftermath.

If one person falls in love at first sight, and the other doesn't feel the same, is it really true love? Or is the second person just...taking a little longer? I wonder.

The curses that change how someone thinks are the most awful ones. Still, I wouldn't say this is the worst curse I've ever seen, but I should think it certainly comes close.

... so do I.

Hmm... it is pretty bad - or is going to be, tomorrow. What would you say is the worst you've seen?

Or, as it turns out, they might not ever have the chance to find out, either way.

One that showed me what might have been, had I failed in something very important. And I lost a dear friend in the aftermath of it.

I'm guessing there's a case of everything.

... oh, that... must have been very painful.

But it's all the better that you succeeded.

It was. But he's gone now, so...well, it's not as though him being gone makes it any better, by any means. But it's something to remember and to learn from, just the same.

It might've been best if the problem had never arisen at all, though.

Yes. But those are usually the most necessary decisions to make, as well, so there's really no getting out of them.

...And I've forgotten to introduce myself, I'm sorry. My name is Rosella, it's a pleasure to meet you.

Sadly, that's so very true.

Ah, so have I! I am Asano Rin, and the pleasure is mine.

It's lovely to make your acquaintance, Asano. I do hope you're having a pleasant day, despite the curse?

Since I'm not affected, it's no less or more pleasant than any other. What about you?

I'm keeping busy, at least. And I do hope that whatever happens at midnight doesn't end up spoiling the ball tomorrow.

... "ball"... ? So many things I don't know.

(OOC: ... that icon generally refers to Rin herself. >>;)

Yes, it's--well, it's rather like a party, with dancing and music, but a bit more formal.

Ah, so it's like that! Come to think of it, I think I did see mentions of some kind of festivity around the network...

Mmhmm. And it's tomorrow evening, and I'm just worried that with all the silliness going on today...well, I just hope it doesn't ruin things.
