Well, yesterday afternoon I got my first root canal! It was on tooth #4, an upper bicuspid tooth.
The dentist I had had excellent credentials, and it took him about an hour.
I was praying the entire time. You know how there are no atheists in a foxhole? Same applies to root canals.
I was made aware of all potential risks ahead of time, and it almost makes one want to back out. But I didn't have much choice.
So far I haven't had any post procedure pain, but I'm still
bracing myself just in case. It's been 12.5 hours since it was completed.
I go in on August 12 for my regular dentist to put a crown on the tooth. Then next September I'll get a root canal on the tooth next to it, tooth #3. It has much bigger problems, so it might end up having to be pulled, but I hope not.
So far this tooth has cost me $990, and that doesn't count the amount I'll pay for the crown next week. But I'm so grateful that I've gotten this far and that there are dentists who can help me.
