still alive and kicking

i swear to god i'm going to update this thing soon.... 2006: what a bullshit year. at the stroke of midnight, on december 31st, when i will undoubtedly be thousands of miles away from the united states, i will not be celebrating the beginning of 2007. i will be jumping for joy that 2006 has been relegated to the motion sickness bag of history ( Read more... )

i think there's something disharmonious with the starts and planets this year. no rational explanation makes sense, other than maybe blaming george bush for everything. i've heard so many people say the same thing, and i've seen uncannily strange, bad stuff happening to the people around me.

to underscore the whole theme, my grandmother passed away two days ago in new zealand. i only got to meet her once when i was very young, because she never made the trip to canada and the u.s. like my grandfather did.

probably the best way to look at this year is that it represents the theme of "death" in the same way one might interpret the "death" card in tarot. it's the state which precedes rebirth and reawakening.

very, very good things are afoot. i can feel it.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. Loss is loss...no matter if you met with her once or a thousand times. My condolences to your family.

I am 100% in agreement with you. I too, believe that something has been out of alignment since this goddamned year started. Maybe it was George Bush, Kim Jong Il and Hugo Chavez combined? ;) Between my father's passing, my lack of luck in finding a job, and loss of direction, I feel that the interpretation of "death" is extremely accurate for 2006. Here's something odd: I actually had two tarot readings done in the last week. One I did myself (and I haven't touched my cards in YEARS) and the other one a good friend of mine did. Now, I don't believe that the cards "tell your future," but rather they indicate/reveal your subconscious/inner workings and possible tools to consider. It was bizarre because with both readings I pulled several of the same cards and both times, the readings were ridiculously accurate. It ceases to amaze me. At least change is imminent; I am calmed by that thought ( ... )
