I don't think I'll ever get used to being a divorce. It's something very surreal. I know my parents aren't the best role-models of a perfect marraige, but they were good enough. I keep hearing rumours that Mary is pregnant, but I suspect it is just the gallstones. The boys want to see you, drop by the Amalienborg sometime this week?

Yes, it's just gallstones. Fred found it quite amusing, and said to me "Someone told me I was going to be a daddy!".

I'll come by... how is Nikolai's writing going?

How typical of Fred. But I'm glad Mary's alright. All this work can be stressful at times.

Great, I'll let the boys know. Nikolai's writing is improving, though his teacher keeps telling me to read to him. I don't think he understands that I have a very busy schedule and do my very best. I'll just have pull more time out.

Fred is a wonderful husband - you and I both know that - but he's just so oblivious to everything at times! I worry about him, though, as the younger brother, that's not really my job. Mary will be so good for him, I think.

Oh, Alex, I can't stand the thought of you doing everything like a single-parent! There's so much on your plate and I try to help but it's impossible if we want our arrangement to work.
