Actually, if I thought that a tactical vote would in this instance make a definite difference, I would do it in a second. Because to me, what's at stake in this election is not just who runs the country for the next few years, but the whole electoral system. And seeing the Lib Dems' share so heavily bolstered that it hangs the parliament is the best way I can see to change that system.

As it is I reckon either Lib Dem or Labour in Edin North & Leith is going to work toward that end, and I quite like the LD candidate, so far. We'll see how he replies to my email.

Yeah, I've voted tactically once (1997), other than that I've voted for people who seemed close enough to my view on things, even when they had no chance of success. Living in a country with a form of PR helps, of course :->
