My copy of Ulysses is unfortunately out of reach, so we'll have to settle with a delightfully Joycean excerpt from (chosen at random) from Finnegan's Wake, which manages to allude to Vergil, Paracelsus, Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, and the American censorship of Ulysses (and oh so much more)in a *single* scatalogical sentence:

I hope you can excuse my breaking in. My doriangrayer mood pushed me to dare knock at your door and introduce myself. My name is Vilhelm. I think I need to know you better, if you don´t feel the same please kick my bum quickly before I harvest more hope, but do it with a quote, so I can nod and close my eyes for the forth time this morning.

Oh divine Mr.Joyce.This passage reminded me of what orgasm feels like.Oh those wonderful,never-ending sentences!I can't understand how some people find them boring.I find Joyce's writings absolutely electrifying.

I've long been an admirer of Boulet's work. She's probably my favorite late-twentieth century painter - I'll certainly join!
