It occurs to me that I haven't yet posted about my annual trip to Fields Book Store, pound for pound still the finest occult bookstore in the English-speaking world. Gary Lachman is an infrequent visitor to Treadwells Bookshop in London. We attended the lecture he gave their in 2007 about the book.

Unfortuately we missed the recent book launch party but I've got a copy by my bed and am looking forwards to it.

Are there any East Coast bookshops of a similar ilk that you might recommend? We're likely to be in DC at some point.

I'm pretty sure there's nothing in DC remotely comparable. There's a pretty good one in the Boston area that xomec took me to last time I was out that way, though.

Fields beats out The Bodhi Tree, in your opinion?

Fields has depth where Bodhi Tree has breadth, and Fields is amazingly broad for such a small storefront. That said, Bodhi Tree's used section is (or was, last I was there) really, really strong.
