Wikipedia page:
Here. 999 Wikia on Snake:
Here. [character abilities]: Snake has incredible hearing prowess and is able to hear a noise rooms away from where he is standing. He is also skilled in fighting, mostly defensive and grip like, as seen when he holds down Ace in one ending in the incinerator. He is highly intelligent and well-read. Other than that, Snake is a perfectly normal human being.
[character personality]:
Snake is described as a prince-like character: calm, decisive, knowledgeable, and sometimes gratingly smug. He's usually the first to explain something, even if it is in dire circumstances. Snake's logic can seem almost frigid, such as when he decides to go through Door 5 where the Ninth Man's remains lay because he would be the one less affected by it due to his blindness. His blindness does play a large role in his why his demeanor is so aloof sometimes and why he also is the first to take on difficult situations; he does not want to be pitied for his inabilities. He tells Junpei on several occasions how he can easily defeat an attacker. Considering how he took down Ace in the incinerator room, this does ring true. But he doesn't dwell on his limitations, instead improving the skills he had to make up for them such as hearing and sense of touch.
However, Snake is mostly an intellectual person uninterested in direct conflicts. He enjoys reading very much, as seen when he describes the various topics of books in the library to Junpei and he'll never pass up an opportunity to divulge some information. He can also be quite the joker, usually adding a bit of snark to his observations and is not above telling a sex joke or two. Snake can be very sarcastic a lot of the time. He enjoys "trolling" people, such as with his banter with Junpei.
But, even though Snake may seem smug and coldly logical at times, he is an incredibly compassionate person once one gets to know him. He was willing, even so close to escape at the first Nonary Game, to go back and help Akane. Most of his compassionate character is directed towards his sister, Clover. Clover is very important to Snake and he tries to protect her as much as she protects him. He can be a natural leader, as evidenced when he pulls together the children after they almost fall apart in the first Nonary Game, and does genuinely believe in sentimental values despite his scientific and analytical approach to things. He is very insightful when it comes to people and when the times calls for it, will be encouraging.
Those that dare to hurt anyone Snake cares about, especially Clover, will find that this normally calm person does have an unflappable, berserk-like rage when pushed.
All in all, Snake, though, chooses to be one to give hints rather than solve the riddles for others because he believes everyone has the potential to surpass their own limitations.
[point in timeline you're picking your character from]: The end of the game on the True Route, when everyone escapes from the facility.

[Video clicks on. At first, there just seems to be view of the surrounding city, but a man walks into the picture, dressed in occult-like robes, and sits on a chair not too far from the device. His eyes are closed like he is sleeping but his head keeps turning to different directions before he turns to the recording device. He runs a hand through his recently damp hair. He smiles.]
I'm sorry to keep anyone on pins and needles as to what I've been doing. I was hoping someone I knew might find me, but no such luck, I'm afraid.
...I wonder how many times such an abduction has happened to me? Three times? My, a simple phone call or invitation will suffice next time, Zero. Or no, not Zero. What else have you to gain from playing out that game more?
[He crosses his arms, looking thoughtful for a minute before smiling again to the device.]
I guess that's enough idle chat. My name is Snake. Well, it's an alias but that shouldn't be too much of a concern now, right? I would like some information as to where I am exactly.
And if anyone knows if a girl named Clover has been seen here, as well.
[third person / log sample]:
Snake leaned back in the seat, head turned to the soft whistle of wind coming from the slightly open window in the SUV. Everyone had fallen asleep, except Clover who, to the extreme pleading of Junpei, drove the car at an easy cruise across the desert. From the cool air brushing against his cheek and the slight damp smell, Snake could tell rain was coming. Clover confirmed his suspicions.
"A storm's coming and a rest stop is just up ahead. ...We're going to have to call it a night." Clover whispered to her brother in the back seat. He understood why Clover was whispering.
Snake turned his head to Junpei's direction and heard the steady breathing of him sleeping. It was for him they kept going so long into the night. No, that wasn't quite right. They all wanted to speak to Aoi and Akane, Santa and June.
Snake wanted to tell him he understood their motives. A brief fear clutched his heart---if anything had happened to Clover during the first Nonary Game, he couldn't ever fathom thinking of being okay, of anything other than enacting revenge on those that harmed her.
He could forgive Aoi and Akane, "Zero".
He leaned his head on his hand, his blank expression dipping into thoughtfulness. He wondered if they could ever forgive themselves for this. Snake dismissed the thought with a shake of the head. He remembered a gray-haired, blind boy telling a another boy with a sibling he cared for very much the four leaf words: hope, faith, love and luck. And that boy would go on to tell those words to Junpei, who would give them to Clover in her time of need. Those words saved lives.
And he didn't doubt that those words would save their lives one day, as well.
"Hey, Light." Clover's voice broke his reverie. "What are you smiling about? You must be getting slaphappy from sleep deprivation."
"Oh, no. I'm just glad you decided to slow the car down. Junpei was getting pretty nervous."
"Hey! At least I knocked the old geezer in the back around, didn't I?"
Snake only smiled. He didn't spare a thought for the broken Hongou.
Instead, he let himself slowly slip into sleep as he felt the first drops of a redeeming rain come down.
