I don’t expect that to be easy, fighting against gods and the invisible author who keeps writing our misfortune, but I’m tired. I want it to top.

You could have been hurt. There is no end to this?

...I know. But I wasn't, and that's something to be thankful for, at least.

I think we're all quite tired of curses.

But are you proposing that we try to rebel against the 'deities' again?

Against them or against the invisible hands that pull their strings.

We could look for a way. There has to be one...

They certainly aren't unbeatable. The invasions and opposing forces that have emerged to defy them in the past shows their weaknesses.

When we had to help them last time... Maybe that is our opportunity, Earl, if an opposing force arrives, we could encourage each side to destroy each other.

We want this to be over.

Has no one tried to find an end to it before?

Well, even if they failed, we could always try again anyway...

There were many early attempts to try and test the so-called City "barrier" that ended up in failure.

Maybe the barrier was the wrong thing to target.

The deity's office was also attacked and that accomplished less.
