House Hunt

Emma stepped off the L and onto the street. Checking the piece of paper in her hand, she headed down the street to the inspection.

As soon as Max had seen the tub, she had decided she had to have the place. Back in her crib in Seattle, if she'd wanted to take a bath, she had to boil 20 pots of water, a task that took roughly an hour. Hot running water was worth paying for.

"What the Hell are you doing here 'Girlfriend'?" demanded a familiar voice, peevishly. Max glanced over her shoulder at Emma. "Kinda obvious isn't it? Househunting." Max returned her attention to the bathtub. "Check this tub - it's huge! I gotta have it."

"You should see the kitch- Wait. No. You? Here?"

Emma's left eyebrow popped. "You can afford this place?"

Max's mouth quirked a little at the idea of caring about the kitchen - it wasn't like Logan was around to cook for her.

"Yeah. Me. Here." She arched her own brow. "...Easily." She responded tartly, her tone making it clear that Emma's assumption that she couldn't afford the place was mildly insulting. "How about you?" She asked.

"Of course," Emma responded. She paused to watch a NPCouple wander by the doorway. "One second," Her eyes focused slightly past the horizon.

...What's that horrid stench?...

The face of the woman blanched. Turning she grabbed her partner by the sleeve and dragged him out of the apartment.

Emma glanced over to Max with a quick smile. "Sorry, I don't think you ever mentioned what it was you did for a living?"
