Since I got a shitload of time at the moment, I thought it might be a nice idea to explore my new hometown Basel instead of just sitting around at home.
Trip 1:
From one of the more recent public transport problems I discovered that there is a water tower close to the place I live, only about 10minutes to walk. So, I went up (pay a very small fee) and enjoyed the view as well as the quietness. The view was great, for one part you can see the EuroAirport from up there (next to St.Louis/F) on the other side you can see the
Goetheanum in Dornach...

Basel borders France and Germany, and there is a point where all three countries come together, basically on the river between Huningue (F) and Kleinhüningen (CH). The picture above shows the pillar on the Swiss side of the Tri-Country corner (may I say that the German "Dreiländereck" sounds lovelier? *g*), with the pedestrian bridge in the background that connects Huningue (F, on the left) with Weil am Rhein (D, on the right).
To get from the pillar to the bridge you have to walk quite a bit because the pillar stands in the port of Basel on a small hook. But I thought, as long as the weather is holding I might as well just go over the bridge and look back on Switzerland. My first trip abroad this year... ;) I just made sure I had my passport with me, just in case I might get checked.

I was in Zurich on Saturday (for a casting actually, I'll tell more about that another time) and thought I might as well just take a trip through the older part of the city. I just have to add that as a Bernese person, you tend to have a slight disinclination against Zurich and its people. But the city, especially the part I was in, is slowly growing on me.
And I did something I don't usually do - I took a picture in a church. But I just had to take that picture of Karl der Grosse (Charles the Great?) displayed in the Münster's crypta. Didn't turn out as good as I hoped, I only had my iPhone with me...
