"i have a bad feeling about this..."daps1May 22 2005, 19:53:01 UTC
oh man...i don't have that much time cuz i'm about to leave the house, but i wanted to reply to #2. i think leia was talking about the mother that adopted her, and not about padme. i saw rotj the night before rots so it kinda makes sense, seeing that they never knew their actual mothers.
2. i heard lucas' reasoning behind all that is the force allowed leia to remember that image of her mom when she was born. so the force gave her super memory to remember all the way back to child birth. i read that somewhere. but daps' reason sounds pretty realistic as well since we're never sure if leia knows if she's adopted or not.
4. he says a few few times in return of the jedi. but he says those exact words when he's talking to leia after the ewoks make them apart of the tribe and before he surrenders and vader confronts him for the first time since they fought.
7. i kinda figured it was like how naboo was. padme was queen amadala, but she was elected.

2. i think whenever lucas realizes his inconsistencies he BLAMES it on the force. BOO.
4. yes, you're right. and i'll know even more for sure after i watch ANH, TESB, and ROTJ today.
7. yeah, so this still doesn't answer the question re. leia's royal status. at her birth, padme is senator rep. naboo. bail organa is a senator, not king of alderaan, right? maybe bail organa is senator of alderaan, and then we can presume his wife may be queen of alderaan (in her own right, not because her husband is senator or vice versa). when padme becomes a senator, she's not royal...so if leia reps alderaan in the galactic senate (at the time of her capture in ANH)...why is she?
Once again... "nooooooooooo"xmakibakaxMay 23 2005, 08:48:51 UTC
1) I would think that if EPI through EPIII were at least 20 years prior to EPIV common sense would SCREAM for the director to mimic the special effects technology that was used in EPIV through EPVI for the sake of consistency. Or perhaps at least tone down the superfluous backdrops and scenery

1. wonder what would've happened if lucas made em all turn off their computers and they had to go into the backyard again to build the deathstar out of styrofoam cups and spray-painted strawberry baskets. they made a better film without all the technology. it all just got in the way

half of the dialogue is a medium sized glass of diarrea. that said, i would've had vader say "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....bitch!"
and the name "Panakin": i love it! i also hate it haha.
i sure hope a lot of these questions will be sorted out on the DVD or special boxed sets of all 6 films. and it better be stored in a vader mask (a la 1980s star wars figurine case).
